There are generally three types of welding equipment in the industry, namely, welding process classification, system size classification and peak number classification.

1. Primary welding system

Primary welding system is a process form with a long history, which is generally divided into two types: suspension type and frame type. The frame is the basic frame of the primary welding system.

One off welding system is suitable for short insertion process, which is also a popular way. Especially for electronic products that require product quality and reliability, this process can only be used for the following reasons: the thermal damage of components and PCBs is minimal, the components after welding will not be mechanically damaged, solder and flux are saved, the use cost is low, the structure is simpler (compared with the secondary welding system), and maintenance is more convenient.

2. Secondary welding system

Secondary welding system, also known as sequential welding system, is suitable for long insertion process. It can be divided into ring type and straight type from the perspective of setting out.

The advantages of the secondary welding system are high efficiency, less strict requirements on the surface cleanliness of the base metal, and labor saving. Therefore, it is widely used in the production of low-grade electronic products (such as radios, black and white televisions, etc.). Its disadvantages are complex equipment, troublesome maintenance, low assembly quality of the final product, which cannot meet the requirements of thin PCB products with fine spacing and high density, easy to cause mechanical damage to PCB and components, high solder consumption, and easy to cause the accumulation of impurity metals (such as copper and zinc) in the solder tank.
